Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer Co‑Op – Summer/Fall 2026 session at Collins Aerospace Manchester, IA facility (on‑site). This role is a full‑time Monday‑Friday co‑op covering May/June‑December (including the Fall semester). The engineer works alongside industrial engineers, production floor operators, and manufacturing support staff on manufacturing issues.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with industrial engineers, production operators, and manufacturing staff to resolve product flow, quality, ergonomic or safety issues associated with advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Develop or improve designs of fixtures or tooling to aid in manufacturing, build, verify, and implement these fixtures.
- Identify root cause of manufacturing defects, process inhibitors and implement effective corrective action measures.
- Program and run laser machines, 3D printers, and other manufacturing equipment to develop fixtures.
- Aid in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
- A variety of manufacturing techniques used to build and create advanced electronic equipment.
- Systems in which aerospace manufacturing environments must operate and navigate.
- Prioritization and balancing workload across multiple projects.
- The day‑to‑day experience of being an engineer in industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent; student must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
- U.S. citizenship required; only U.S. citizens authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
- Experience with Solid Works modeling.
- Experience with VBA or other scripting languages.
- Experience with 3‑D modeling or laser cutting.
Salary range: $37,000 - $82,000 USD. Eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, and other standard benefits.
LocationManchester, IA 901 South 10th St, Manchester, IA USA. Position eligible for relocation.
