Job Description

Job Purpose

The Compliance Administrator plays a key role in maintaining compliance with U.S. import, export, and controlled substance regulations. This position is responsible for the preparation and submission of regulatory filings, maintenance of compliance records, monitoring regulatory requirements, and ensuring product classification data is accurately managed across internal systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all controlled substance regulations at the Manchester site.
  • Maintain secure storage and handling procedures for controlled substances.
  • Ensure controlled substances are clearly identified and segregated according to schedule classification and registration requirements.
  • Maintain accurate controlled substance inventory records, including properly documented biennial inventories.
  • Renew DEA registrations annually and manage updates to drug code registrations.
  • Monitor DEA regulatory updates, including classification and procedural changes, and communicate relevant changes to the U.S. Compliance team.
  • Manage import permit and declaration processes for the Manchester site, including application submissions and closures.
  • Apply for DEA exemptions.
  • Maintain and organize controlled substance documentation and records for both sites.
  • Process DEA Form 222 requests for site purchases and customer transactions as required.
  • Partner with Customer Support teams to ensure controlled substance orders are processed in accordance with regulatory requirements and that all necessary documentation (e.g., DEA Form 222, permits) is in place.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports, including:
    • ARCOS monthly reporting
    • Quota applications, monitoring, and year-end reporting
    • DEA exemption reports (semi-annually)
    • Acetone, 2-butanone, and toluene reporting
  • Monitor inbound shipments to the Manchester site to ensure timely customs clearance and assist with issue resolution when necessary.
  • Cross-train with other Compliance Coordinators to provide coverage during absences and support team flexibility.
  • Participate in additional compliance and operational activities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Basic experience in US compliance/Familiar with CBP, FDA, EPA, DEA and USDA regulations.
  • Knowledge of import and export regulations.
  • Understanding US controlled substance regulations and how to apply to facility and documentation at facility.

Preferred

  • Associate’s degree in a relevant scientific field or equivalent applicable experience.
  • Familiarity with organic chemistry a plus.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and guidance documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team atmosphere and to work independently.
  • Good attention to detail, well organized, innovative.
  • Highly self-motivated.
  • Strong team player.
