About Elliot Child Care Center:
The Elliot Child Care Center is an employee sponsored Early Care and Education program that is considered an HR benefit and, as such, is not open to the public. To be eligible, a child’s parent must be employed by the Elliot Hospital.
Who We AreThe Elliot Child Care Center has a reputation as a high-quality Child-Development program with little teacher turn-over, low teacher-child ratios, and well-equipped classrooms and playgrounds. The program serves children aged 6 weeks through 6 years, year-round. The combined years of teaching experience of the team is over 300 years! This brings a wealth of knowledge and support and a commitment to providing a positive experience for all children and families.
Aboutthe Job:
The Assistant Teacher Supports the daily operation of the Elliot Child Care Center by assisting the Associate and Lead Teachers in providing a warm, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children. As child advocates, Elliot Child Care teachers work together to provide children with a safe, nurturing environment in which they can grow and develop at their own pace. This includes respectful, professional interactions with children, families, and colleagues.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Engagesp with children, families, and co-workers baller positively throughout the day.
- Supervise children with a critical eye to ensure the environment is safe.
- Use a developmentally appropriate approach to guide children’s behavior.
- Care for the basic needs of children to include bottle feeding infants, changing diapers, wiping noses, etc.
- Maintain cleaning and sanitation of the classrooms and shared spaces.
- Follow all NH Child Care Licensing Regulations, including certifications, background checks, and ongoing professional development.
- Attend staff meetings, participate in family events, and emergency drills as scheduled.

Must be 16 years of age. Appropriate documentation for employment required. - Experience: Experience working with young children in settings such as childcare, babysitting, camp counselor.
- Certification/Licensure: NH Early Childhood Credential preferred or must apply for credential within 12 months of hire. In accordance with the NH Child Care Licensing Unit, attends a minimum number of continuing education training hours.
