Senior Engineer, Transmission System Planning (Hybrid)

Eversource Energy invites experienced engineers to conduct system studies for transmission planning related to clean energy and large load integration. This hybrid position requires presence in the office for the first 3 months.

Eversource will not offer immigration‑related sponsorship for this position.

• Perform large‑scale integration studies (DER, Data Centers, etc.) across CT, MA, and NH.
• Conduct and manage comprehensive power system impact studies for utility‑scale DER projects and large Data Center interconnections.
• Use industry‑standard tools (PSS®E, PSCAD, TARA, Synergi) to perform steady‑state, dynamic, and EMT studies.
• Validate inverter models and ensure compliance with grid codes and standards.
• Identify grid issues and develop mitigation solutions (upgrades, FACTS devices, control settings).
• Serve as primary technical point of contact for utilities during the interconnection process.
• Prepare clear technical reports, study results, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

• Power systems analysis skills and experience with interconnection applications for large industrial loads.
• Proficiency with TARA, PSSE, PSCAD, and scripting (Python) for automation.
• Understanding of power delivery system operations and power system theory.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally.
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical preferred (advanced degree preferred).
• Minimum 5 years power system engineering experience; professional engineer license preferred.

• Work location options are flexible—choose from MA, NH, or CT.
• Must be available for emergency restoration assignments and travel among MA/CT/NH.

The annual salary range for this position is $–$. Salary is commensurate with experience, and the position may qualify for incentive compensation.
