** The Opportunity
** We are seeking an experienced and analytical
** Failure Analysis (FA) Supervisor
** to lead our FA team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for evaluating the electrical and mechanical characteristics of integrated circuits and systems to determine the root cause of failures. You will not only analyze failure reports and recommend corrective actions but also be empowered to develop the methods, processes, and equipment that will advance our failure analysis capabilities.
This is a leadership position that combines hands-on technical investigation with strategic process improvement.
** What You Will Do
*** Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of dedicated Failure Analysis (FA) Technicians.
* Conduct comprehensive, in-depth failure analysis on products and samples in response to customer issues and internal investigations, generating detailed reports with actionable recommendations for product and process improvements.
* Drive the enhancement of our FA capabilities by evaluating, developing, and implementing new procedures, analytical tools, and innovative methods.
* Analyze defect trends from failure analysis data and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
* Manage the annual budget for the FA Laboratory, including planning expenditures and providing regular status reports.
* Develop and maintain training materials to enhance the technical knowledge and competency of FA personnel.
* Effectively interact with global counterparts at Allegro to align on failure analysis issues and best practices.
* Coordinate with external subcontractors for analysis capabilities that are beyond our internal scope.
* Ensure all FA laboratory equipment is maintained through a robust preventative maintenance and calibration schedule.
* Uphold and implement all Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines within the laboratory.
** Who You Are
*** You have a degree in Chemical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, or a related engineering field.
* You bring proven experience from the semiconductor industry, with a strong background in failure analysis techniques.
* You possess excellent leadership qualities with the ability to build and manage a high-performing team.
* You are a natural problem-solver with strong analytical skills and an organized, methodical approach.
* You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
* You are proficient with standard computer applications and have hands-on experience operating FA laboratory equipment.
* Required Training & Knowledge:
Familiarity with 8D / Problem Solving Techniques, QC Tools, and Quality Management Systems (QMS / EHSMS / ISO/IATF 16949) is essential. The successful candidate will also complete training in Radiation, Laser, and Chemical Safety.
