RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years Emergency Department experience required for contract labor

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC

• Patient ratio 4:1 with flexibility during acute surge situations

• Work with protocol-based care allowing RNs to order labs, EKGs, x-rays, and medications based on chief complaint

• Every other weekend requirement for contract labor

• No floating to other areas

• Equipment experience with ultrasound IV skills, Lucas Device, Hotline Rapid Infuser, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis

• EMR system:
Sunrise/Allscripts

• Dress code: scrubs required, no hooded shirts or sweatshirts for safety reasons

• Perform typical ED procedures including trauma care, stroke care, laceration repair, orthopedic trauma, ultrasound IV insertion, IO insertion, eye exams, EKGs, psychiatric care, and cardiopulmonary care

• Must demonstrate strong assessment skills, critical thinking, communication abilities, adaptability, dependability, and punctuality

• Work in Emergency Department with 25 procedure rooms, 8 hallway beds, and 4-bed secure psychiatric annex

This medical center operates a comprehensive Emergency Department featuring 25 procedure rooms with curtains or doors, 8 hallway beds utilized 24/7, and a specialized 4-bed secure psychiatric annex for patient placement. The facility serves a complex patient population including those with multiple comorbidities, complicated heart conditions, DKA, sepsis, trauma, and stroke patients. The emergency department maintains modern medical equipment and utilizes protocol-based care that empowers nursing staff to initiate comprehensive patient workups, making it an advanced and progressive healthcare environment.
