Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with cardiac focus

• Patient ratios: 1:4 during days, 1:5 during nights

• Every other weekend requirement

• 2 years of PCU experience required with strong background within the last year

• EPIC experience required

• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, EKG test upon arrival

• Preferred skills: CPI, sheath removal, care of ventilated patients

• Float to similar units as needed

• No call required

• 24 hours of orientation provided

• Manage and titrate cardiac drips including Lasix, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin

• Care for patients with chest pain, syncope, heart failure, sepsis, overdose, GI bleed, COPD, pneumonia

• Handle post-catheterization patients with stents, ICD/Pacer insertions, cardioversions

• Work with special equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, Alaris pumps, Phillips monitoring systems

• Any scrub color acceptable

• Free parking provided

• Holiday coverage requirements: if contracted during winter holidays, must work at least 2 of 3 major holidays

• Drug screen must be completed within 14 days of start date

This acute care hospital is a 300-bed facility with trauma center designation that provides comprehensive cardiac care services. The facility features a progressive care unit that specializes in cardiac patients requiring intermediate level monitoring and care. The hospital utilizes EPIC charting systems and offers extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
