Manager, Engineering - Continuous Improvement at Velcro Companies

Position Overview

This role leads continuous improvement initiatives, fostering operational excellence and innovation across the organization. The manager will implement Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints to optimize production, resources, and performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver measurable results aligned with strategic goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, instilling Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints throughout the organization and encouraging innovation.
  • Develop company-specific Continuous Improvement Training Tools and Methodologies.
  • Plan and execute a structured improvement roadmap, optimizing processes and resource utilization using lean manufacturing principles.
  • Utilize data analytics to strengthen decision‑making, prioritize projects, and guide sustainable improvement initiatives.
  • Organize and lead cross‑functional Kaizen events to eliminate waste and implement solutions across all manufacturing sites.
  • Develop and track KPIs to measure process performance and report results to senior management.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless project implementation.
  • Partner with HR and training teams to deliver continuous improvement training programs, fostering a culture of problem‑solving and innovation.
  • Ensure improvement efforts comply with safety regulations and company policies, emphasizing a safe working environment.
  • Keep abreast of industry best practices, benchmark, and apply relevant strategies for a competitive edge.
  • Communicate improvement progress and results to all stakeholders, fostering transparency and support.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required.
Non‑essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Other duties may be assigned or required for the performance of this position.
Minimum Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in continuous improvement, preferably in textiles, plastics, or similar manufacturing sectors.
  • Analytical mindset with data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Lean Six Sigma and/or Theory of Constraints certification highly desirable.
  • Proven experience facilitating Kaizen events and driving measurable process improvements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration at all levels.
  • Experience influencing without authority across multiple departments.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience driving cultural change toward continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of textiles manufacturing processes and supply chain management is an advantage.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required (10% or less).
