Join the HCA Healthcare team as a Nurse Extern PRN in our Cardiac Medical Surgical unit.

The Nurse Extern will work under the supervision of a licensed RN, gaining hands‑on experience and providing patient‑centered care. You will assist with ADLs, vital signs, mobility, wound care, specimen collection and other basic nursing procedures while documenting care accurately.

• Assist the nursing staff with patient care, including ADLs, vital signs and mobility tasks.
• Perform nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter care, specimen collection, and other basic procedures as you gain experience.
• Document care accurately and communicate updates with the nursing team.
• Educate patients and families about their care plans, medications and follow‑up measures.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection prevention practices.
• Participate in learning opportunities and collaborate with supervisors to develop a personal career development plan.

• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited nursing program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) licensure.
• Ability to create and implement a personal career development plan.
• Completion of Nursing Fundamentals.
