About the Job:
The RN Nursing Supervisor represents nursing leadership by providing oversight of nursing care and hospital clinical operations in alignment with policies, procedures, standards, and regulations. Collaborates with members of the health care team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
The RN Nursing Supervisor will also be responsible for facilitating admissions and transfers into the hospital from other sites within Solution Health and external facilities; and will coordinate patient access for emergent, urgent or specialty treatment, applying clinical expertise to prioritize admissions; and will optimize bed assignments and patient flow.
What You’ll Do:
• Maintain contact with patient care areas, assessing staffing needs and clinical concerns. Support patient care needs, as well as nursing skills and knowledge. Allocate resources (supplies, materials) as needed by patient care areas.
• Identify and resolves issues, notifies appropriate leaders as appropriate and contact the Administrator-on-Call when a significant event occurs. Provide support and direction in critical or emergent situations, allocating resources as necessary. Facilitate huddles after patient occurrences and debrief after critical events.
• Act as a traffic controller in patient flow, assigning patients to the appropriate units from all points of entry, including but not limited to, internal and external transfers, emergency and urgent care departments, surgical and procedural areas, and direct admissions.
• Efficiently manage the patient transfer process, collaborating closely and maintaining open channels of communication with transferring facilities to ensure a smooth transition for patients.
• Communicate and collaborate with the multidisciplinary teams, to prioritize emergent, urgent, and specialty patient placements. Promote interdisciplinary communication to optimize patient outcomes and serve as a liaison between different departments to ensure seamless patient transitions.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to the care teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Encourage professional growth and ensure staff are equipped with the necessary tools and resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Supervise nursing teams within the hospital, facilitating resources including staffing, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Perform patient placement for all points of entry, internal and external to the organization.
• Responsible for the facilitation of patient transfers into the hospital from other sites within Solution Health and/or external facilities, ensuring that clinical expertise is used to prioritize admissions.
• Facilitate the optimization of patient flow, in conjunction with the nursing supervisor.
• Foster a cohesive and collaborative environment.
• Ensure alignment of patient needs with care teams.
Who You Are:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Current New Hampshire, compact, or multistate licensure as Registered Nurse required.
