RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in a 20-bed mixed medical and surgical Intensive Care Unit

• Variable patient ratios based on acuity: ECMO 2:1, post open heart surgery 1:1, Critical ICU/devices patients 1:1, typical ICU assignment 1:2, stepdown assignment 1:3-4

• Work every third weekend with no call responsibilities

• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 8-10 RNs, 1-3 LNAs, and sitter PRN

• Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 8-10 RNs, 1-3 LNAs, and sitter PRN

• Work with advanced equipment including IV pumps, telemetry monitors, hoyer/stand lifts, Impella, IABP, CRRT (nxstage), bladder scanner, Bair hugger, rapid transfuser, Blanketrol, chest tubes, vein finder, Sorin retransfuser, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP

• Use Sunrise EMR system

• Assist with procedures including pericardialcentesis with drains, thoracentesis, central line insertion, arterial line insertion, chest tube insertion, intubation, TEE cardioversion, TTE, and transvenous pacing wire insertion

• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS

• Must have telemetry experience and ideally PCU or greater experience

• Preferred experience with critical drips, ventilators, and prior ICU experience

• Must be organized but easily adaptable

• May float to Progressive Care unit

• Scrub color/attire: N/A
