DutiesSpecial agents carry out assignments in investigations and protection, potentially at multiple duty stations across the U.S. and abroad.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing protection for various protectees.
- Conducting criminal investigations related to U.S. financial obligations.
- Planning and implementing security for National Special Security Events.

Requirements- U.S. citizenship
- Valid driver's license
- Firearm proficiency and ability to carry and use a firearm
- Age between 21 and 37 at the time of conditional employment offer (exceptions apply for veterans and prior federal law enforcement)
- Top Secret Clearance
- Visual acuity of 20/100 binocular uncorrected, 20/20 or better corrected
- Hearing within specified limits
- Drug testing and ongoing random drug tests
- Complete training at FLETC in Glynco, GA, and James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD
- Willingness to accept assignments nationwide and abroad
- Registration with the Selective Service System or exemption
