This technician role supports the installation, maintenance, and servicing of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems for commercial customers.
Duties Include- Assist with on-site preventative maintenance, routine repair and calibration after installation.
- Use technical abilities to maintain systems.
- Work in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Work safely and follow all safety measures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Flexibility to work overtime, on-call and weekends is required.
- High School diploma or GED
- HVAC Trade school graduate preferred with strong attendance
- 1+ year in mechanical support role; some hands-on HVAC experience preferred
- EPA Certification - Type I & II or Universal preferred
- NATE certification a plus
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
- Ability to climb ladders
- Moderate lifting up to 90 pounds
- Technical aptitude to perform maintenance, service, and troubleshoot equipment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills
- Ability to complete repairs and required paperwork
- Ability to work independently and self-schedule
- Self-motivated to complete tasks within time constraints
- Driven to succeed with minimal supervision
- Periodically on call for service coverage
- Willingness to relocate within the country after training
- Local travel may be required
Technicians install, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on commercial rooftop HVAC units. Must be able to safely:
- Climb ladders and access rooftops
- Work at heights
- Load/unload tools and equipment from a work van
- Lift up to 75 lbs occasionally; overhead lifting up to 25 lbs
- Push/pull wheeled carts up to 150 lbs
- Extend reach overhead in repetitive motion
- Climb to roof height
Compensation: This is an hourly non-exempt role. The salary range is $33,000 – $41,000 annually, depending on geography, tenure, performance, skills, education, and experience. Overtime is available where permitted by law.
