Diesel Mechanic – Permanent Full Time, Mid Level

Ryder Supply Chain Solutions is hiring a Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet.

- Hourly Pay: $31.14 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 per new ASE Certification, up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus:
Up to $500 per quarter (four times per year) - Tool Box/Tool Allowance
- Schedule:
Monday‑Friday (Second Shift 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm)

- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Conduct standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computer when applicable
- Identify root causes of failures and perform required repairs
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints once assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Work in accordance with federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support)
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or Technical Certification, post‑secondary degree, or technical certifications (preferred)
- Basic tools, required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake, tire work)
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience (preferred)
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road testGRESS
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
