Role overview

The QA Specialist is responsible for performing both manual and automated testing on our applications, including our mobile, Cloud and enterprise product suites. You will work closely within an Agile Team to test enhancements to existing products, new products, and to resolve associated technical issues. You will work closely with your team to write and implement test plans, create test cases and perform regression testing to ensure our product offerings meet Newforma standards prior to production environment release.

You will be an integral part of the team, using your quality expertise to be fully engaged in an Agile process.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the team to design and execute test approach to support the work for software applications.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure quality is built into the product early and is testable.
  • Attend and be a productive member of daily standups, grooming, retrospective and planning meetings.
  • You will help test application through backend functions as well as through UI.
  • Qualify all new features by testing on supported platforms and configurations.
  • Responsible for helping to implement, execute and troubleshoot automated tests.
  • Verify builds with acceptance tests, track bugs, story analysis, and participate in development meetings.
  • Ensure highest quality for the application by using your curiosity and experience to thoroughly test the feature and ensure stability of impacted areas.
  • Be clear, thorough and concise in defect documentation to help make it efficient for the team to identify and fix.
  • Have a passion to become feature expert to socialize new functionality across the teams.
  • Use virtualization software to increase productivity.
Requirements
  • Computer Science degree or relevant work experience
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills, thorough in completion of tests and detail oriented
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and handle multiple tasks
  • Must have excellent verbal/written/communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Must be highly self-motivated and able to work independently
Nice To Have Qualifications
  • Experience in database technology such as My Sql
  • Experience with automated test tools such as Postman
