Coffee County Youth Services - Youth Services OfficerApplications are now being accepted for a Youth Services Officer Position with Coffee County Youth Services. We are seeking a qualified candidate who holds a minimum of a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, criminal justice, or a closely related field. Candidate must also have at least two years of experience working with children and families (which may include relevant college internships or field placements).
EssentialJob Duties
- Assist clients in completing necessary court forms before, during, or after their case is heard in Coffee County Juvenile Court.
- Assist in scheduling, preparing for, and conducting mandatory meetings with clients and other outside agencies including the Department of Children’s Services, all three local school systems, and other collateral agencies.
- Random drug screening of clients, monitoring the completion of community service assignments, handling unexpected crisis phone calls or visits, referring clients to appropriate agencies in the community for needed services, including emphasizing the accountability of clients and their parents/guardians regarding the completion of court-ordered requirements.
- Perform any special assignments as given by the Director of Youth Services.
Physical demands of the work environment include walking, written and verbal communication, sitting, standing, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift 25 pounds. Must also be able to speak English as a primary language, be able to perform basic mathematical functions, as well as exhibit sound problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills. Must possess basic computer skills as well as familiarity with Microsoft Office.
Candidate must have extensive knowledge of and strict adherence to all confidentiality laws and regulations as mandated by the Tennessee Code Annotated.
Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Candidate must also pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
