Our client is a Top 60, advisory‑led accountancy and professional services firm with a strong UK presence. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an Audit & Accounts Senior to join their expanding team in Manchester.
- Prepare statutory accounts, audits and corporation tax returns for a varied portfolio of clients.
- Lead audit assignments on‑site and remotely, ensuring audits are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Assist with planning, completion and finalisation of audit assignments for manager review.
- Prepare accounts files and supporting working papers in line with relevant accounting standards.
- Liaise directly with clients to obtain information, resolve queries and build strong working relationships.
- Review work completed by junior team members, providing feedback and ensuring review points are addressed.
- Support and mentor junior staff and trainees throughout assignments.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with internal compliance procedures and deadlines.
- Manage client workflows and prioritise workloads to ensure assignments are completed on time and within budget.
- Identify client issues and opportunities to improve service delivery.
- Assist senior management with ad hoc assignments and project work where required.
- ACA / ACCA qualified or part‑qualified.
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment.
- Experience in both audit and accounts preparation.
- Strong understanding of UK accounting standards including FRS
102 and FRS
105. - Confident communicating with clients and colleagues at all levels.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a wider team.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments.
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff would be advantageous.
- Proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
