Accounts Payable Clerk

About the Role

Location:

Manchester City Centre. Salary:
Up to £30,000 (hourly rate). Job Type: Temporary with immediate start.

• Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Match, batch, and code invoices to purchase orders.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and process payment runs (BACS/cheques).
• Handle supplier queries and maintain strong working relationships.
• Assist with month‑end processes, including accruals and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial procedures.
• Support the wider finance team with ad‑hoc duties as required.

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger role.
• Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in Excel and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Sage, Oracle or similar).
• Self‑motivated with a proactive and flexible approach.
