Client; Accounting Manager​/Senior Manager

A well-established and growing accountancy and business advisory firm is seeking an experienced Client Manager / Senior Manager to join its Bolton office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified professional to take on a key leadership role, managing a portfolio of clients while supporting the ongoing growth and development of the practice.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality accounting, tax and advisory services to a diverse client base, while leading and developing a team of accounting professionals.

• Manage a portfolio of SME and owner‑managed business clients.
• Build strong client relationships and provide proactive business and financial advice.
• Oversee the preparation and review of statutory accounts, management accounts, VAT returns, corporation tax returns and personal tax matters.
• Lead client assignments from planning through to completion.
• Ensure compliance deadlines are met across the client portfolio.
• Support clients with tax planning and business growth strategies.
• Manage, mentor and develop team members, providing technical guidance and leadership.
• Drive process improvements and support the adoption of new technologies.
• Identify opportunities to grow client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Attend client meetings and act as a trusted adviser on accounting and commercial matters.

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Strong experience within an accountancy practice environment.
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients.
• Excellent technical knowledge across accounts preparation and taxation.
• Good understanding of FRS 102 reporting standards.
• Experience with cloud accounting software, including Xero.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Commercially minded with a proactive approach to client service.
