Position: Accountant Senior - 12 month fixed term

Ready to take your career global? Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for an Accountant Senior to join our Settlement Accounting & Operations team in Manchester and help shape the future of global commerce.

Responsibilities

Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying, designing and implementing BAU process efficiencies that enhance operational performance, control and scalability.

Own accounting and reconciliation reporting activities, ensuring accuracy, integrity and timely delivery of key financial outputs.

Lead projects and change initiatives from requirements gathering through testing, analysis and implementation, ensuring successful delivery and operational alignment.

Support strategic change programmes by partnering with stakeholders to embed new processes, systems and controls, while ensuring the BAU team is fully prepared for change and transition activities.

Perform impact assessments, process reviews and testing activities to ensure operational readiness and the successful adoption of new initiatives.

Monitor, evaluate and recommend enhancements to existing processes, controls and reporting frameworks to improve efficiency, risk management and service delivery.

Qualifications

Part‑qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) with relevant experience in finance, accounting operations or reconciliations.

Strong reconciliation experience, with the ability to investigate, resolve and communicate complex breaks and discrepancies.

Proven track record of leading projects and delivering operational change, including process improvements, system enhancements and change initiatives.

Experience supporting testing, implementation and transition activities within a finance or operational environment.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to identify opportunities to enhance processes and controls.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and deliver high‑quality results in a fast‑paced environment.

Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial systems and reporting tools are advantageous.

It’s a bonus if you have previous supervisory or people management experience within a finance, accounting or shared services environment.
