Hybrid – M-Wed in office, Thurs-Fri from home Duration: minimum 9months initially About the Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Interim/Temporary Assistant Financial Accountant to join the finance team of a leading business. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to gain exposure to business transformation and finance integration projects.
The successful candidate will support the Financial Accounting team with month-end reporting, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls while working closely with colleagues across the UK.
Key Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting month-end close activities Posting journals including accruals, prepayments, payroll and depreciation Maintaining fixed asset records Preparing and reconciling intercompany balances Performing balance sheet reconciliations Daily cashbook postings for receipts and payments Investigating and resolving outstanding cash items Completing monthly bank reconciliations across multiple currency accounts Processing payroll payment set-up Assisting with VAT reporting and VAT journals Providing information to support external audits Supporting finance improvement initiatives and business integration projects as required About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience in a similar Assistant Accountant, Accountant or Finance Officer position AAT qualification or be currently studying AAT or other finance qualification would be advantageous
Experience with :
Bank reconciliations Journal postings Month-end accounting Balance sheet reconciliations Cashbook processing Strong Excel skills
Experience with ERP systems, ideally JDE Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills The ability to build effective working relationships across different teams A proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities What's on Offer Opportunity to join a well-established organisation Exposure to finance projects Hybrid working (3 days in the office) Collaborative and supportive finance team Immediate start available
