The role

Role overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Accounts Assistant to join our finance team and assist with daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate will handle financial transactions, ensure accurate record-keeping and support financial reporting. Candidates must be eager to pursue further studies and demonstrate a strong willingness to progress in their accounting and finance career. What you'll do

Key responsibilities
  • Allocate all receipts daily and investigate any unidentifiable items
  • Reconcile bank statements to the system balance and post correcting items in a timely manner
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end financial reports
  • Generate charges on tenant and leaseholder accounts
  • Prepare credit control reports
  • Process supplier invoices in a timely and accurate manner
  • Process weekly payment runs
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding payment queries and disputes
  • Carry out any other ad-hoc duties as requested by the Finance Manager

What we're looking for

Skills & requirements
  • Educated to undergraduate degree level
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach with a drive for continuous improvement
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom
