Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a high-growth, private equity-backed business in Greater Manchester as they look to appoint an ambitious Group Accountant to join their expanding finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for aqualified ACA or ACCA professional seeking their first move from practice. Reporting into senior finance leadership, you'll gain exposure across group reporting, financial controls, audit, process improvement and business partnering activities.
The organisation continues to grow through both organic expansion and acquisition, creating excellent opportunities for progression and long-term career development.
Key responsibilities:- Manage key aspects of the month-end and year-end reporting cycle.
- Support the production of accurate and timely group financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, including FRS
102. - Act as a key finance contact for external auditors and support the annual audit process.
- Investigate and explain reporting variances across operational and financial reporting streams.
- Partner with stakeholders across finance and the wider business to improve reporting accuracy.
- Review financial performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
- Maintain robust balance sheet controls and reconciliations.
- Support finance transformation initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Identify and implement efficiencies across finance processes and controls.
- ACA or ACCA qualification.
- Experience gained within practice, audit or a large complex organisation.
- Strong financial reporting and technical accounting knowledge.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel capabilities and confidence working across finance systems.
- The ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Previous mentoring or supervisory experience would be advantageous.
- £55,000 - £60,000 salary depending on experience.
