Senior Financial Accountant Location :
London, Liverpool Street (Hybrid working – 2/3 days WFH) Salary : £75,000 - £90,000 discretionary bonus & comprehensive benefits package Our client is a multinational energy group operating across a complex international footprint. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their London finance team. Reporting directly to the Head of Accounting, this role will play a key part in supporting financial reporting, analysis, and stakeholder reporting requirements across the business.
Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packs Perform detailed balance sheet and P&L analysis, investigating key variances and trends Review financial information prepared by external advisers and challenge outputs where appropriate Support month-end and year-end reporting processes Prepare reconciliations, reporting schedules, and financial commentary Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting activities Support board, lender, and investor reporting requirements Liaise with external auditors and professional advisers throughout reporting cycles Identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes, controls, and efficiencies Partner with stakeholders across finance and the wider business to support decision-making Requirements ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualified accountant Trained within a Big 4 or Top 10 accountancy practice with an external audit background 1-3 years of industry experience gained following qualification US GAAP experience would be beneficial Oil & Gas, Energy, Infrastructure, or Natural Resources sector experience would be advantageous Strong financial reporting, analytical, and review skills Experience preparing or reviewing management reporting and financial analysis Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders across the business Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
