Medical Receptionist

Medical Receptionist, North Manchester Based.

£23,809.50 per year.

We are looking for an experienced Medical Receptionist to join a busy and supportive practice in North Manchester. This is a permanent, full‑time role working Monday to Friday on a rotating shift pattern of 8:00am–4:30pm (3 days) and 10:00am–6:30pm (2 days). The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a medical reception environment and must be confident using EMIS. A DBS check will be required.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming patients and providing a professional first point of contact

• Managing incoming calls, appointment bookings, and patient queries

• Processing repeat prescriptions and handling clinical correspondence

• Updating and maintaining accurate patient records using EMIS

• Supporting clinicians with administrative tasks

• Managing incoming post, emails, and general reception duties

• Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with practice policies

Essentials

• Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist

• Confident user of EMIS

• Strong communication and customer‑service skills

• Ability to remain calm and organised in a fast‑paced environment

• Professional, friendly, and patient‑focused

• Able to work both shift patterns (8–4:30 and 10–6:30)

• Willing to complete a DBS check
