The Haematology and Transplant Day Unit is looking to recruit a highly motivated, energetic and efficient team player to join the Haematology Directorate.
The post holder will have the ability to work on their own initiative and be able to prioritise their own workload. The main purpose of the role is to support the efficient running of the Haematology Administrative team.
The post holder will also assist the Medical and Nursing teams with clerical tasks such as ensuring clinics are properly prepared and scheduling appointments. The post holder will be well organised, have a pleasant and approachable manner, be proactive, use their initiative and be able to work well in a busy, fast‑paced environment. Good communication and IT skills are essential.
Responsibilities- Use the scheduling system to plan patients’ day‑case admissions, liaising closely with the clinical team about capacity to ensure efficient flow of patients within the department.
- General reception duties including greeting patients, booking patients into clinics and outgoing appointments.
- Adhere to all written instructions on the clinic proformas with regard to scheduling and booking of appointments.
- Add to waiting lists for day‑case investigations taking instruction from a booking form.
- Deal compassionately with distressing situations.
- Clinic preparation to ensure that all clinical notes and forms are present.
