About the Role

We are seeking an Admin Assistant to join our team at MEA Central. The role is a Grade 3 permanent position, working 35 hours a week during term time plus 5 INSET days. The starting salary is £22,004 (full‑time equivalent £25,583) and the position will commence on 01.09.2026.

Main Purpose

This varied and rewarding role involves a wide range of administrative tasks at the school reception, ensuring efficient and effective administration for the school community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcoming visitors and handling telephone, email and face‑to‑face enquiries.
  • Providing general administrative support such as photocopying, filing, data entry and correspondence.
  • Arranging meetings and taking high‑quality notes.
  • Maintaining school systems, records and display boards.
  • Supporting the school with mail distribution and stock management.
  • Using ICT systems such as Word, Excel and databases.
  • Assisting with pupil welfare and first‑aid responsibilities (training provided).
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience of general clerical, administrative and financial work.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage workload.
  • Confidence using ICT systems, including Word, Excel and databases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when handling data and financial information.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and a proactive approach to work.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality and supporting pupil wellbeing.
  • Willingness to undertake first‑aid training.
  • Additional language skills in Arabic, Urdu or Punjabi are highly desirable.
