Role:
Document Controller – Manchester, UK
We are currently seeking a Document Controller to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced document controller within the construction industry.
Responsibilities- Management of incoming documents both electronic and hard copies
- Coordination of progress and design team meetings, taking and distributing the meeting minutes
- Maintaining accurate records of all drawings and other construction documents issued by consultants and contractors through each stage of the project
- Ensuring that every drawing or other design document is received by the relevant trades and consultants
- Managing the Request for Information (RFI) process and providing reports to the project team as necessary
- Providing the team with timely and accurate answers to all document‑control related queries
- Undertaking regular reviews of the system to ensure effective use across the projects
- Maintaining an accurate, efficient and user‑friendly filing system, ensuring that copies of drawings and documents are easily found
- Communicating the capabilities of the document‑control system to the project team and providing training, technical and procedural support for all users
- Processing a large number of documents daily, including quality assurance checks, printing, review distribution and electronic forwarding to create a comprehensive audit trail
- Managing the flow and storage of information for the ‘Golden Thread’ submission and maintaining a weekly tracker for Golden Thread information for the Design/Project Manager to chase from the site staff
- Updating documents, creating document templates and ensuring quality control document management
- Compiling the O & M manual and providing general technical support to the construction teams, attending regular site progress meetings
- Performing other duties required by the Director or Manager to fulfil the role and assist the office
- Keeping trackers for documents and drawings
- Knowledge of document control and/or construction industry processes and terminology
- Experience using an electronic document control system – Procore or a similar cloud‑based construction management platform is advantageous
- Experience working within the construction industry in a similar role
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook and Excel)

Salary£30,000 – £35,000 per annum
Working Hours9am – 5:30pm (37.5hrs per week)
