Planning Technical Support Officer

Overview

Osborne Richardson have an opportunity for a Planning Validation Officer to join a busy local authority in Hertfordshire. The role involves a range of administrative functions related to processing and handling planning applications, including receiving and logging applications, validating applications to check for content, and preparing documents to be used in planning committee meetings. The role may also involve assisting in drafting planning notice letters.

There are also duties dealing with inbound calls and providing advice to customers. You will handle a high volume of enquiries and help manage a busy flow of emails. A key function is using the client’s document management system to index application documents.

• Receive and log planning applications and validate them to ensure content is complete.
• Prepare documents for use in planning committee meetings and assist in drafting planning notice letters.
• Handle inbound calls and provide customer guidance; manage a high volume of enquiries and emails.
• Use the client’s document management system to index and organize application documents.

• Previous experience validating planning applications is essential; training will not be provided.
• Strong understanding of planning terminology and the planning application process.
