Position: Executive Assistant - Central Government

Role:
Executive Assistant

Contract Length: 6 months

Location:

Hybrid/London, Manchester or Bristol. The expectation to be on site officially is 60%; however candidates can expect office attendance to vary each week in line with the Government Chief Product Officer's schedule (2-4 days in office).

Pay Rate to Intermediary: £200 per day

Security Clearance: BPSS and SC eligible requested

Spinwell is recruiting for an Executive Assistant for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
  • Prioritise and respond to emails appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Proactively plan meetings and manage the diary in line with business priorities, ensuring agendas, information, and documents are prepared.
  • Stay highly organised while managing commissions with varying deadlines, and work proactively with teams to identify and resolve issues early.
  • Ensure the Director General’s time is used efficiently and effectively, responding to last-minute changes and urgent requests.
  • Coordinate and organise meeting and visit logistics, including availability, attendance checks, and cast lists.
  • Manage travel arrangements and hotel bookings as required.
  • Provide an effective communication channel between the private office, client teams, and the wider DSIT.
  • Carry out reasonable additional duties at a similar level to support administrative work and business priorities.
  • Contribute to a supportive, flexible, calm, and hard-working team culture.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
  • Strong administration skills or experience providing executive support, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a range of audiences.
  • Experience handling sensitive information with tact and diplomacy while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Experience managing a busy diary and working with urgency when priorities change.
  • Civil Service experience is desirable but not essential.
