We are seeking a professional and service-driven Facilities & Security Support Officer to support operations within a British Red Cross building.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining porter duties, cleaning, front of house services, security responsibilities and general building support. You will play a key role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, presentation and smooth day-to-day operation of the site.
As a visible presence within reception and communal areas, you will provide a professional welcome to staff, visitors, contractors and Red Cross training delegates, while maintaining access control and supporting security procedures. You will act as Fire Marshal for the building, respond to incidents where required, and ensure full adherence to safeguarding and health & safety standards.
- Supporting room set-ups and furniture movements
- Assisting with minor maintenance tasks and reporting defects
- Maintaining communal areas to agreed cleaning standards
- Monitoring consumables and site presentation
- Supporting reception and issuing visitor and contractor passes
- Patrolling and maintaining external areas
- Assisting with ad-hoc operational requests
- Greeting visitors/ Staff
- Assisting them sign in showing them round Post duties (rota based) - Booking out rooms for staff/ Team office days
- Assisting the repairs logistics team with handing out of keys to mechanic, staff, and contractors
- Taking in parcels and communicating delivery to relevant people
- Checking the office area ensuring its clean and tidy
- Ordering stock for office supplies
- Reporting any hazards to health and safety team / contractors
- Bulk print requests
- Carrying out ADHOC duties to suit business needs.
You will work closely with the BRC Property team and Contract/Operations Manager to ensure building standards, compliance and client expectations are consistently met.
While primarily aligned to weekday operations, flexibility is essential. Occasional weekend or out-of-hours attendance may be required to ensure business continuity and operational support.
This is a client-facing, security-sensitive environment where professionalism, reliability and attention to detail are essential.

Previous experience in facilities or security support is desirable. A valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding) would be advantageous.
