Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Commercial and High Rise Residential Manchester

Our client is a highly respected, financially robust main contractor specialising in the delivery of large commercial and residential developments across the UK.

Project Profile:

• High-quality new builds and refurbishment projects in prime locations.

• Contract values ranging up to £35m, with initial exposure to projects in the £5m-£10m range

• Uncompromising standards of craftsmanship and quality

The Role:

Due to continued expansion, they are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial team across several high-value projects.

You will work closely with an experienced Senior QS and Commercial Manager, gaining exposure to all stages of the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with cost planning, tendering, and procurement processes

• Supporting valuations, variations, and cost reporting

• Attending site meetings and liaising with the site and design teams

• Helping manage subcontractor accounts and payments

• Maintaining accurate project documentation and assisting with contract administration

About You:

• 1-3 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within general construction (JCT or NEC)

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field (not essential)

• Strong numerical and organisational skills, with a proactive attitude

• Keen to learn and develop under the mentorship of experienced professionals

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
