Vertical Recruitment is working with a boutique Quantity Surveying consultancy to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. Renowned for delivering high-quality, bespoke projects, this consultancy has earned a strong reputation across a range of sectors, including high-end residential for private clients, multi-residential developments, education and other commercial sectors.

You’ll be joining the Manchester office, where you'll be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take a leading role in the delivery of prestigious projects, mentor junior team members, and continue progressing their own professional development within a supportive and ambitious environment.

About the Opportunity

This is a client-facing role within a professional and highly regarded QS team, offering the chance to take ownership of projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be confident working under JCT contract frameworks and have experience managing cost and contract administration on both new build and refurbishment schemes.

The consultancy places strong emphasis on professional growth, with a structured APC training programme led by RICS APC Assessors, making it ideal for those working towards or recently achieving MRICS status.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver full pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying services on a variety of projects

Administer JCT contracts and manage contract change procedures

Prepare cost plans, feasibility studies, and tender documentation

Lead on cost control, valuations, and final accounts

Attend client meetings, site visits, and design team meetings

Provide mentorship to junior team members and APC candidates

Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors

About You

APC or MRICS qualified (or working towards chartership)

Experience in residential, education, or commercial sectors

Strong understanding of JCT contract administration

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Motivated, professional, and detail-focused, with a passion for delivering quality work

Able to manage multiple projects while supporting junior colleagues
