We are seeking an experienced Works Manager, with a proven background in earthworks and highways, to lead workforce and subcontractors, manage site operations, drive project delivery and maintain the highest standards for health, safety and environment.
- Demonstrated success in a Works Manager or General Foreman role within the civil engineering sector, specifically focusing on earthworks and highways.
- Extensive,hands-on background in bulk earthworks and road construction.
- Strong understanding of heavy plant operations.
- Exceptionalleadership skills with a track record of coordinating with stakeholders,clients, and local authorities.
- Abilityto interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of regulations relating to the storage, transport, disposal and of soilsand other construction waste.
- Skills Card - CSCS Card.
- Determiningefficient methodologies for works delivery and communicating these toengineers, management and workforce or subcontractors.
- In linewith the project behavioural safety programme, establishing a high performing, collaborative culture within the team.
- Sharingbest practice and lessons learned, including at safety forums, teambriefings and toolbox talks.
- Directingsite operations, managing subcontractors and coordinating daily workloadsfor plant and labour.
- Settingthe highest standards for health and safety and environmental compliance.
- Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with project specifications.
- Ensuring all works aredelivered in accordance with the programme and budget, identifying strategies to improve schedule and cost performance
Planning of material and equipment, ensuring adequacy of information to optimise delivery. - Guiding and developing the siteteams in line with company culture and values.
