An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading multi-disciplinary construction consultancy at their offices in either Manchester or West Yorkshire. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be joining a busy team, providing a variety of specialist services including dispute prevention and avoidance, risk analysis, contractual advice, delay analysis, dispute resolution, project turnaround and expert witness to a growing list of clients within the building and infrastructure sectors.
This would be an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor keen to pursue a career in construction claims and dispute resolution work.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will quickly become an integral part of our client's team, providing advice to a variety of projects including the construction of new sports stadiums, offices, mixed-use developments, government buildings, hospitals and research and development facilities within the science and technology sectors. Some of the Senior Quantity Surveyor's key duties will include:
- Reviewing and providing advice on construction contracts
- Assisting clients to ensure they avoid disputes by offering professional, commercially focused advice
- Assisting clients on all issues relating to loss and delay
- Work closely with internal delay analysts to provide assistance on contentious and non-contentious time related matters
- Provide coaching and training to clients on commercial and time related matters
- Provide support to our clients management team, as required
- Offering mentoring and support to junior surveyors within the team
Senior Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need to have:
- Already completed or working towards a MSc in Construction Law
- Considerable experience working in a main contracting or consultancy environment within the UK
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in dispute avoidance or resolution and a keen interest in increasing and developing understanding in the field
