An established and growing Approved Building Control organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Building Inspector (Level 2D or above) to join its expanding team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a competent and commercially focused Building Inspector seeking greater autonomy, a supportive working environment and the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of projects.
The RoleYou will be responsible for delivering Building Control services predominantly across commercial developments, including industrial and warehouse facilities, offices, retail premises, healthcare and education buildings.
Key responsibilities- Conducting plan assessments and site inspections.
- Ensuring compliance with the Building Regulations and associated legislation.
- Providing practical, clear technical advice to clients, contractors and design teams.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Managing your own portfolio of projects from inception through to completion.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a high-quality Building Control service.
- Registered Building Inspector status at Class 2D or above.
- A qualification in Building Control, Building Surveying, Construction, Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline (HNC/HND, degree or equivalent professional qualification).
- Membership of a relevant professional body, such as Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) or Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
- Strong technical knowledge of the Building Regulations and associated legislation.
- Demonstrable experience working across commercial construction projects.
- Excellent communication, client-facing skills and report-writing skills.
- The ability to work independently while managing a varied workload.
- Competitive salary of £55,000-£65,000, depending on experience.
