The Role
As Senior Site Manager, you will work closely with the Contracts Manager and wider project team, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of the construction works.
You will be responsible for coordinating site activities, managing subcontractors and ensuring the project is delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of site activities.
Managing and coordinating subcontractors and site teams.
Working closely with the Project team, design team and wider project stakeholders.
Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
Reviewing RAMS and ensuring safe systems of work are implemented.
Maintaining high standards of health and safety across the site.
Managing site logistics and short-term planning.
Attending progress and coordination meetings.
Providing regular updates on progress, programme and site performance.
Driving standards of quality and site presentation.
Supporting the project through to completion and successful handover.
About You
You will be an experienced Senior Site Manager with a strong main contracting background and a proven track record of delivering new build projects of circa £10m.
Previous experience working on education projects would be advantageous, although candidates with strong experience delivering other complex new build schemes will also be considered.
You should have:
Proven experience operating at a similar level.
A solid main contracting background.
Experience delivering new build projects from construction through to completion.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, sequencing and programme management.
Experience managing subcontractors and site-based teams.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
A proactive approach to problem solving.
Strong health, safety and quality awareness.
The ability to take ownership of site delivery and drive performance
