Quantity Surveyor

Location:

North Manchester

Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 plus 26 days per annum plus bank holidays, increasing with service, private healthcare + enhanced pension

The Opportunity

Due to continued company growth and progression, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join a growing, modern business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in their career, with excellent opportunities for progression and the chance to play an important role within a fast-paced commercial team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing and managing monthly CVR reporting.
  • Preparing and issuing subcontract orders.
  • Preparing and issuing Early Warnings and Compensation Events to clients.
  • Supporting the Commercial Team to ensure compliance with systems, processes and contractual procedures.
  • Working to strict deadlines required under various contracts.
  • Financial monitoring and reporting of assigned contracts.
  • Assisting with the establishment and management of suitable construction contracts with clients to meet procurement requirements.
  • Ensuring the correct administration of contract requirements, including managing variations and changes to works.
  • Maintaining contemporary records to support claims, extensions of time and evaluation of variations.
  • Managing the appointment and ongoing commercial management of subcontractors, including payment applications and final accounts.
  • Ensuring prompt submission of invoices and/or applications for payment to clients.
About You
  • HNC or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying – beneficial but not essential.
  • Previous experience working within a Quantity Surveying / Commercial environment.
  • Experience working with NEC3 or NEC4 contracts.
  • Experience with target cost, fixed price and/or cost-reimbursable contract mechanisms.
  • Water industry experience – highly desirable but not essential.
  • Strong commercial awareness and contract administration skills.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
