Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager – Residential
Location – Manchester
About the CompanyOur client is an established residential construction contractor specialising in the delivery of high-quality Design & Build projects. The business has developed a strong reputation for delivering residential developments with a focus on quality, programme, commercial control, and client satisfaction.
With an expanding portfolio of residential projects ranging from £5m to £100m, the business is now looking to strengthen its commercial and project delivery team with an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager.
The RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant QS / Project Manager looking to develop their career across both the commercial and operational sides of residential construction.
Key responsibilities will include:- Supporting the commercial and project management teams across residential D&B projects
- Assisting with project budgets, cost control, valuations, and forecasting
- Supporting subcontract procurement and supply chain management
- Assisting with the preparation of CVRs and commercial reports
- Monitoring project progress against programme and budget
- Supporting the management of subcontractors and suppliers
- Working closely with site and project teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Assisting with variations, valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Supporting the Project Manager and Senior QS throughout the project lifecycle
- Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
The successful Assistant QS / Project Manager will have:
- Previous experience within residential construction
- Experience with in either Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or a combination of both
- Exposure to Design & Build projects would be advantageous
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction processes
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Good IT and Microsoft Excel skills
- A proactive attitude and desire to develop within the business
- Relevant construction or Quantity Surveying qualification would be advantageous
