Guildmore is looking for an experienced Site Manager to join our Midlands & North team, based in Manchester.
You’ll take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects from start to finish, working closely with the project team, clients, consultants and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, to a high standard and within budget.

Key Responsibilities Health & Safety
 
* Ensure compliance with company and project H&S procedures. Maintain high safety and environmental standards across site.
 
* Carry out regular site inspections, inductions, toolbox talks and briefings.
 
* Promote a strong safety culture and oversee temporary works requirements.
Client & Stakeholder Management
 
* Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and the supply chain. Manage client expectations and provide clear, realistic updates.
 
* Monitor progress and address delays or issues promptly. Provide regular project progress reports.
Leadership & Team Management
 
* Lead, motivate and develop the site team.
 
* Set clear objectives and ensure the team has the skills and resources required. Promote a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture.
Programme & Site Delivery
 
* Manage delivery against programme, cost and quality targets. Coordinate subcontractors and ensure adequate resources are in place.
 
* Chair site coordination and subcontractor progress meetings.
 
* Identify risks, delays and opportunities, taking action to maintain progress. Maintain accurate site records and reports.
Design & Technical
 
* Coordinate design information and resolve technical queries. Review drawings and specifications for buildability and compliance.
 
* Ensure works are carried out in accordance with the latest approved information.
 
* Identify opportunities for value engineering.
Quality Control
 
* Implement Guildmore’s quality procedures and ensure the Quality Plan and ITP are followed.
 
* Ensure inspections, QA records and statutory requirements are completed and maintained.
 
* Drive high-quality standards throughout construction and ensure issues are closed out promptly.
Commercial & Risk Management
 
* Work closely with the Project/Ops Manager and QS to manage project costs and risks.
 
* Monitor subcontractor applications, variations and prelim expenditure. Identify opportunities to improve value and project profitability.
 
* Ensure site instructions and variations are managed correctly.
Supply Chain Management
 
* Build effective relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. Ensure works are properly planned and preparatory activities are completed ahead of each trade.
 
* Drive subcontractor performance to achieve programme and quality requirements.
About You
 
* SMSTS and First Aid qualifications are essential.
 
* Ideally 10+ years’ site experience.
 
* Strong residential and high-rise construction experience.
