The Opportunity An established fit out and joinery contractor is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join its growing team. The business delivers high-quality refurbishment, fit out and specialist joinery projects across multiple sectors, including commercial, retail, leisure, hospitality, transportation and public-facing environments.
This is an office-based role overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, typically valued between 600K-2M. Projects are predominantly located across the North West, although occasional travel further afield will be required.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities Oversee the successful delivery of 2-3 projects simultaneously.
Manage project programmes, costs, quality and client expectations.
Attend and lead client progress meetings.
Support Site Managers and project delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Review and manage Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).Liaise closely with Health & Safety teams to ensure full compliance on site.
Conduct regular site visits and progress reviews.
Monitor subcontractor performance and programme delivery.
Provide regular updates to senior management on project performance.
Ensure projects are completed safely, profitably and to client satisfaction.
Candidate Requirements Essential Proven experience working as a Contracts Manager within fit out, interiors or specialist joinery.
Strong understanding of refurbishment and fit out projects (new build experience alone is not suitable).Joinery background.
CSCS Black Card.
Experience managing projects valued up to 6m.Ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously.
Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and construction regulations.
Full UK driving licence.
Must live within a commutable distance of the office.
Desirable Experience working for both main contractors and specialist subcontractors.
Background delivering projects within:
Commercial interiors
Retail fit out Hospitality Leisure Aviation environments
Stadium and public venue projects
Working Hours Typically 40-50 hours per week.
Flexible approach to working hours with responsibility for managing your own schedule effectively.
