Are you an Associate or Senior Project Manager with experience delivering construction projects within the Industrial and / or Defence sectors. AECOM’s Defence team is growing across the United Kingdom, and we are seeking suitably experienced individuals to join us. Based within commutable distance of either our Manchester, Liverpool or Leeds offices  you will support a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming work, whilst initially being required to provide significant onsite attendance in the Bolton area.

Our work spans the full Defence estate, from accommodation, training, and operational facilities to secure technology, aviation, and specialist infrastructure. As part of our integrated delivery team, you will help shape, plan, and deliver projects that directly support UK Defence capability, ensuring the Armed Forces have the facilities required to operate effectively and safely.

The Role As an Associate / Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of projects or defined work packages, from early-stage development through to construction and handover.

Key Responsibilities Lead major projects (100m+) in the Industrial and/ or Defence sector.

Act as Project Manager and Employers Agent, managing contractual processes and commercial positions

Key day to day point of contact for the client, you will be leading a commission for Project Management, incorporating site supervision and drawing on wider disciplines where necessary.

Work as the Employers Agent to represent and administer JCT Design and Build contracts.

Manage programme, cost, and risk, ensuring robust project controls are maintained

Build and maintain strong client relationships across multiple stakeholders

Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to team capability and growth

Ensure compliance with governance, approvals processes, and security requirements

Minimum Requirements Experience delivering infrastructure or industrial projects, ideally within MOD, DIO, or similarly regulated environments related to the defence sector.

Strong working knowledge of JCT Design and Build contracts

Prior and proven experience working as an Employers Agent.

Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams across design and construction

Ability to manage stakeholders across client, contractor, and end-user groups

Strong communication and organisational skills

Eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC or higher)
