Interaction Designer; GDS​/Government

Position: Interaction Designer (GDS / Government)
Interaction Designer Manchester (Hybrid) Permanent £70,000  Benefits Interaction Designer needed with strong Government Digital Services (GDS) experience for a permanent position in Manchester (Hybrid). Start ideally in Feb/March 2026. A chance to work with a leading global IT transformation business specialising in delivering large-scale Government digital modernisation projects. Hybrid Working - 3-4 days/week remote (WFH), and 1-2 days/week working on-site from the Manchester office.

As Interaction Designer you will be a key member of the User Centred Design (UCD) practice, applying user-centred design principles to deliver impactful solutions. Strong Interaction Design, UCD and UX/UI design experience, including tools like:
Heroku, Figma  Sketch. Leading the design of intuitive, effective, and engaging interactions for digital products and services. Shaping strategies, mentoring junior team members  ensuring work meets user needs and business goals. Translating user research findings into actionable interaction designs. Creating high-quality wireframes, prototypes  user flows to communicate design concepts clearly. Ensuring designs align with accessibility standards including: GDS, NHS service principles, WCAG.

Building strong working relationships with key stakeholders, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams  acting as a trusted advisor to clients. Government / GDS /  domain experience is strongly preferred.
