It's feeling inspired to deliver to the very highest standards. And it's becoming part of the team who bring our collections to life. This is what makes a career with Royal Collection Trust so special.
Joining a small, dedicated team, you’ll take on a key role in guaranteeing the quality of Royal Collection Trust’s (RCT) publishing programme across a range of academic, commercial, illustrative and digital titles.
You’ll act as project manager on specific titles, ensuring they are produced on time and to the highest standards. You’ll also oversee the work of freelance editors and designers whilst taking on financial budgeting, editing, fact-checking and writing tasks personally.
You will have the autonomy to deliver projects you can be proud of. Yet in all that you do, you’ll rise to the challenge and deliver exceptional work to the highest standards.
Key responsibilities- You’ll manage RCT’s publishing programme from commissioning to delivery, ensuring titles meet high standards and are delivered on time and within budget.
- You’ll commission and oversee freelance editors, designers and production teams, while collaborating with curators, authors and internal colleagues to keep projects on track.
- You’ll contribute to new publishing opportunities, including digital formats, and manage reprints and updates to existing titles.
- Working with retail, e-commerce and marketing teams, you’ll monitor sales, support promotional campaigns and maximise revenue potential.
- You’ll play a key role in exhibition and learning projects, editing and proofreading catalogues, labels and educational content, and directing photography for publications.
- Acting as sustainability champion, you’ll ensure ethical production and recommend improvements to meet the organisation’s sustainability goals.
- With significant experience of copyediting high‑end illustrated content and project‑managing printed books, ideally in a humanities and arts background, you’re ready to flex your skills in a new environment.
- You’ll also have a good understanding of how to commission a variety of third parties, including freelance editors, photographers, illustrators and designers.
- With an ability to effectively plan and organise your workload, you'll be confident meeting deadlines on a regular basis.
- In a fast‑paced environment, you’ll be comfortable managing a changing workload and have the flexibility to enable you to thrive.
- Proactive, with a strong teamwork ethic, you’ll also assist others within the team, using your experience and initiative to resolve issues as they arise.
- You will be a confident communicator with the ability to clarify messaging, both written and verbally. This, alongside your ability to build effective relationships across the organisation will make you an asset to the team.
