Pattern Cutter – British Luxury RTW
A renowned British luxury ready‑to‑wear house is seeking an exceptional Pattern Cutter to join its atelier team. Working closely with Designers, the Creative Director and wider atelier, this individual will play a vital role in bringing the brand’s refined, modern aesthetic to life through impeccable craftsmanship and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Creates accurate first patterns for womenswear RTW, interpreting design sketches into beautifully constructed garments.
- Collaborates closely with Designers and the Creative Director to translate creative concepts into workable patterns while maintaining the integrity of the design vision.
- Works hand‑in‑hand with the atelier, drapers and machinists throughout the prototype and sampling process.
- Conducts fittings, notes alterations and refines patterns to achieve exceptional fit, silhouette and proportion.
- Develops patterns using a blend of traditional manual techniques and digital skills where required.
- Partners with Product Development on technical packs, construction details and garment engineering.
- Ensures patterns are production‑ready, working with factories and suppliers where necessary.
- Maintains pattern archives and supports the development of new blocks, shapes and construction techniques.
- Upholds the highest standards of craftsmanship, precision and luxury finishing.
- Strong experience as a Pattern Cutter within a luxury womenswear RTW environment.
- Excellent understanding of garment construction, draping, cutting and tailoring techniques.
- Ability to work directly from sketches and translate creative ideas into technical solutions.
- A meticulous approach with exceptional attention to detail and finishing.
- Confident attending and leading fittings, working collaboratively with designers and senior creatives.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem‑solving mindset.
- Experience working with both manual pattern cutting and digital systems (Gerber, Lectra or similar) is beneficial.
- Passionate about craftsmanship, luxury product and the creation of beautifully made garments.
