PURPOSE OF

THE ROLE  Radio 3 Production is a team of people passionate about music. As part of BBC Audio, we are a major supplier of content to Radio 3. We love classical music in the broadest sense and sharing this with as wide an audience as possible.

We make a portfolio of programmes including Breakfast, Classical Live and Through The Night ; specialist shows like The Early Music Show, New Music Show and Music Map ; innovative programmes such as Night Tracks and some Between The Ears; a whole range of broadcast concerts including the Northern Proms .

We aim to bring our enthusiasm for this music to our audiences via content on BBC Radio 3, BBC Sounds, on social -  live or pre-recorded, in the studio or in the concert hall.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM
We are looking for an Assistant Producer who can research stories and identify  guests and build  programmes such as the New Music Show, support a performer about to go on stage live for a BBC Philharmonic concert, deliver an episode of Through the Night , or compile a running order for Breakfast or Classical Live.  If you can reassure a presenter with clear, reliably sourced notes, support a producer stressed by deadlines or encourage a less experienced colleague, you could be our next team member.

You should have a genuine passion for classical music in all its forms and variety, have the editing skills to cut down an interview at short notice, the attention to detail to provide accurate metadata and experience of publishing podcasts. We are looking for a self-starter and someone who is brimming with ideas to reach new audiences - whether that's on linear radio, or through BBC Sounds.
