Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are a crowdfunded company and have a dedicated and enthusiastic community of backers who are helping us create the “Best Damn Space Sim Ever”. We want to build the best we can deliver and we believe wholeheartedly in the value of exceptional diverse talent.

Founded in 2012, Cloud Imperium Games creates cutting‑edge video games that defy expectations. We’re currently developing Star Citizen, a record‑breaking multiplayer online space sim, and Squadron 42, a cinematic single‑player adventure set in the same universe. Join us as we break boundaries and make videogame history.

The Mission Design Team (MDT) consists of designers, a producer, and embedded QAs, responsible for many aspects of the game, such as creation of new missions, upkeep of existing missions, and creation of events for players.

What You’ll Do
  • Work with your lead to nail down details of a high‑level design.
  • Design, document and implement missions and gameplay systems under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Work in various in‑house tools including Star Script, a visual scripting editor, to create logic for missions, systems and events.
  • Work closely with other disciplines to plan and sort out dependencies to guarantee deliveries on time.
  • Actively seek feedback, iterate on your work and grow your craft within the team.
What Are We Looking For
  • Previous industry experience on AAA or equivalent titles with a solid design portfolio.
  • A working understanding of visual scripting or coding fundamentals.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across disciplines.
  • A willingness to learn, take direction and develop your skills in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to build relationships with other departments.
  • The ability to work with and respect frequent deadlines.
CIG Diversity Statement

Together, we are creating a space where authentic recognition, appreciation, and understanding of the importance of diversity is fostered by everyone. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we strive to build a team that represents all walks of life, and we want every employee to bring all the things that make them unique to the work environment.

The universe is as vast and varied as the people in it, and it's our differences that make it special.
