About Aim Smarter: a community‑driven technology platform for the promotional products industry, serving 2,300 distributor members, supplier partners, and modern merch sellers.
About the RoleThis is not a social media scheduling job. It sits at the intersection of storytelling, platform strategy, community documentation, and creative execution. The raw material is people – members running businesses, supplier partners building products, a network with real stories inside it that nobody is telling yet.
Your job is to find those stories, shape them, and make them land differently on every platform they need to live on. You will work closely with the brand and marketing team to figure out what to say, where to say it, and how it should feel to someone discovering the industry for the first time versus a distributor who has been in it for twenty years.
“The community is the content. The role is making that visible in a way that feels human, not produced.”
ResponsibilitiesRunning and shaping Aim’s social presence across Linked In, Instagram, Tik Tok, Reddit, Snapchat, and Facebook. Not just posting—thinking about what each platform needs, what feels native versus forced, and why the same story lands differently in different spaces.
Planning and shooting original content on location, mostly handheld and iPhone‑led short‑form, with higher‑production pieces when the moment calls for it. One‑person crew: camera, audio, lighting basics.
Attending events, supplier visits, and in‑person community experiences to capture content live.
Interviewing members and brand partners on camera.
Editing for Tik Tok, Instagram Reels, You Tube Shorts, and longer‑form Linked In and You Tube. Fluency in Premiere or Final Cut, plus Cap Cut for fast‑turnaround.
Using AI across the pipeline: ideation, scripting, edit acceleration, auto‑captioning, b‑roll generation.
Running day‑to‑day community management across platforms: replying to comments and DMs, spotting sentiment shifts, and feeding member feedback back to the team.
Collaborating with the brand and marketing team on platform direction, content strategy, and next steps.
Required Skills & Experience- Portfolio of short‑form social content that has actually performed, with metrics (views, engagement, growth).
- Demonstrable AI fluency – familiar with tools used day‑to‑day and able to adopt new ones quickly.
- Strong opinions about what good social looks like and confidence to advocate for them.
- Right to work in the UK and ability to travel to the US without sponsorship. Some travel required, including occasional evenings and weekends for events.
- Culturally switched‑on, noticing things in online communication.
- Comfortable on camera and behind it, able to put interviewees at ease quickly.
- Insight into Gen Z behaviour by living or paying close attention.
- Warm, socially intelligent, willing to travel and meet people.
- Creative and able to execute; ability to turn ideas into tangible outcomes.
- No degree required; taste, instinct, portfolio and thinking are key.
- Platform‑native storytelling instinct.
- Short‑form video expertise.
- Community‑led content.
- AI fluency.
- On and off camera presence.
In‑person role with immersion in company conversations, decisions, and dynamics. The team is small and connected; no silo between brand, content, and community.
The role is based in Manchester and requires office presence. Remote applications will not be considered.
