At Made By Mortals, we bring lived experience to life - co‑creating characters and stories that challenge perspectives and spark action around health, care, and social justice. Together with our communities, we create audio stories, films, and video character case studies full of real voices, insight, music, and emotion - work that makes people feel and belong.

We’re looking for a visual artist and photographer to help us capture the heart of what we do. We need a range of vibrant, artistic, and people‑focused images to bring our website and marketing materials to life.

Our work is imaginative, emotional, and upbeat - and we want visuals that express that same spirit: images that celebrate imagination and community and make people feel part of something that matters.

We’re looking for a Visual Artist and Photographer who:
  • Lives in/near Greater Manchester - because we want to work with you in-person.
  • Has at
    least three years experience
    in similar work.
  • Is a lone freelancer/subcontractor - as we want to build a strong and creative working relationship with you.
  • Is comfortable and experienced with working with diverse communities - as we imagine some of the images will be co‑created with the people we serve.
What we offer:
  • An initial commission of £2000 (amount of content/days negotiable), with the aim of us having an ongoing working relationship.
  • Collaborative and supportive working environments.
  • A chance to contribute creatively to meaningful projects.
Application process:

If this speaks to you, we’d love to hear from you. Send a short introduction, your relevant experience, and links to your work to nicola by
30th April 2026 - and we’ll be in touch to set up a chat.
