PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £42,000 - £52,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Job PurposeJoin BBC News as our You Tube Show runner and help shape the future of trusted journalism on the world's biggest video platform. You'll lead the development of original You Tube-first formats that attract new audiences, deepen engagement and build lasting viewer habits. Working with journalists, presenters and production teams across BBC News, you'll turn innovative ideas into distinctive, repeatable formats that bring public service journalism to life for digital audiences.

YourKey Responsibilities And Impact
- Develop and launch original You Tube formats that grow audiences, deepen engagement and strengthen BBC News' presence on the platform.
- Lead projects from concept through pilot production, testing and series development, ensuring ideas are editorially robust and creatively distinctive.
- Work closely with presenters, journalists, producers and editors to create repeatable, audience first formats designed specifically for You Tube.
- Use audience insights, performance data and platform expertise to refine content, improve retention and optimise viewing habits.
- Identify opportunities to transform BBC journalism, expertise and talent into innovative long-form and mid-form video experiences.
- Champion creative innovation by staying ahead of platform trends, audience behaviours and emerging creator approaches.
- Collaborate across teams to deliver formats that meet the highest editorial, creative and public service standards.
- Proven experience developing and producing successful original video formats, series or franchises for You Tube or comparable digital platforms.
- Strong creative and editorial judgement, with a track record of taking ideas from concept through pilot and into production.
- Deep understanding of You Tube audience behaviours, content performance metrics and the factors that drive repeat viewing and audience loyalty.
- Experience working closely with on-screen talent, presenters or creators to develop engaging and authentic content.
- Strong project leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple developments simultaneously and bring teams together around a clear creative vision.
- Experience developing content for news, current affairs or factual programming.
- Understanding of You Tube analytics, audience development strategies and content optimisation techniques.
- Experience launching new digital brands, shows or editorial products.
- Knowledge of emerging creator formats, social video trends and platform innovation.
- Experience working within a large, multi-disciplinary media organisation.
